The newspaper and magazine industry’s Royal Charter on press regulation has been tweaked to include the provision of a whistleblowers’ hotline. This was a key Leveson report
recommendation left out of the document published by the Newspaper Society on 25 April. The Charter was today formally submitted to the Privy Council for consideration. It is believed that it will be
considered alongside the Parliament-backed Royal Charter on press regulation which was published on 18 March.
