NBC Owns Monday, 'Voice' Still Sings

The-Voice-A6Officially into TV's summer season, NBC's springtime start "The Voice" continues to lead on the Monday after Memorial Day -- although it is down to a series low.

"The Voice" put up a Nielsen preliminary 3.1 rating/9 share -- down 11% from a week ago. Still, NBC was the highest-performing TV broadcast network on Monday. NBC earned a 2.7/7 among 18-49 viewers and 9.4 million overall viewers.

A full rating point back was ABC, with a 1.7/5 in 18-49 (5.8 million overall viewers), starting up its summer with its returning "The Bachelorette" series, which saw a 1.9/5 for a two-hour season premiere. This was down nearly 30% from last summer's start, which was at a 2.6 rating.

Most of the schedule was in expected reruns.

Of the fresh programming, NBC's "Revolution," which ran after "The Voice," earned a 1.9/5 at 10 p.m. Also at 10 p.m., a special ABC "20/20 -- Bringing Up Baby: Royal Edition" -- took in a 1.3/4, at about the same level as ABC's new drama "Motive," which ran in the time slot the week before.

Univision came next at 1.5/4 and 3.4 million overall viewers. CBS scored a 1.1/3 for the night and 4.4 million overall viewers, followed by Fox at a 0.6/2 and 1.4 million viewers. Fox's "The Goodwin Games," a summer show, earned only a modest 0.6/2.

CW went with the movie "Memorial Day," reaching a 0.4/1 among 18-49 viewers and 1.5 million overall viewers.
