Vobok, developer of a new app that allows users to share your voice in 30-second bites on social networks, has tapped Alan
Daniels, previously SVP, marketing and distribution planning at Sony Pictures Television as its chief marketing officer.
The new app lets brands and personalities record messages—rock
bands to sample cuts, advertisers like movie studios or TV programmers to make audio pitches or products to offer promotions—via Vobok and sending them via Facebook or Twitter. Part of the
pitch is that, for one to one communications, it might be simpler to use Vobok than a mobile phone. Moreover, for advertisers, Vobok takes the “print” aspect of instant messaging or
tweeting and enhances it with sound. Users can also post an image with their Vobok message.
Vobok allows brands and personalities to record and post 30-second
sound bites on their social networks, providing a broadcasting platform for sharing information in a simple and instant way.
