
Former
Viggle and 19 Entertainment executive Janet Scardino has landed the chief operating officer post at media/entertainment company Saban Brands.
Scardino will oversee Saban Brands’ media
operations across television, digital and games, content distribution and advertising sales for all TV/entertainment worldwide. She will report to Saban Brands President Elie Dekel and CFO William
Kehoe.
Saban Brands entertainment properties includes kids TV shows “Power Rangers” and “Digimon Fusion.”
Most recently, Scardino was CEO of Viggle, the
social media loyalty program for television. Before that, she was president of branded entertainment for 19 Entertainment, the creators of “American Idol.”
She was also
executive vice president and managing director of the consumer digital media businesses in the U.S. and Europe at Reuters, as well as president/chief marketing officer of The Knot. Scardino also
worked at AOL, where she was senior vice president of international marketing.
Other posts include managing director of the Disney Channel in Italy, and programming, production, and
marketing positions at MTV.
Saban Brands started in 2010, an affiliate of Saban Capital Group, to acquire and develop entertainment/media properties
