'Jimmy Kimmel,' Myspace Promote Musicians

Select artists that appear on TV late-night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” will get to perform an extended set in front of the show’s fans, starting June 18. That performance, which follows the TV broadcast, will be streamed on Myspace, giving fans a chance to see bands twice.

For the past 11 seasons, “Jimmy Kimmel” has promoted performances by both new and acclaimed musicians.

Christian Parkes, vice president of global marketing at Myspace, stated that the social network was “joining forces to extend the reach of these incredible performances across broadcast and digital channels to reach an even bigger audience."

As part of its Music First campaign, Bud Light is the exclusive sponsor of the three concerts during summer, kicking off the first show tonight, when Empire of the Sun takes the stage to perform songs from their first album in nearly five years, “Ice on the Dune.”

Fans can go to a dedicated Jimmy Kimmel Live! hub at to watch the concert live. The entire performance series will be archived and available on Myspace for later viewing as well.

Myspace says its site gives users access to 53 million tracks and videos.
