PubMatic, a sales-side platform, has hired a new exec for the EMEA and APAC regions. The company this week announced the addition of John Stoneman as senior director, ad solutions
for EMEA and APAC.
Rob Jonas, vice president and managing director for PubMatic EMEA and APAC, stated that he believes the recent Publicis/Omnicom merger "will bring momentum around
agencies moving to a programmatic model." He added that Stoneman's experience - over 15 years across EMEA - will be important in helping agencies "complete [the] transition."
Jonas
called the rise of programmatic buying "inexorable," an adjective backed by PubMatic's recent success. The company had 176% revenue growth throughout
Europe during the first half of 2013 and had an "almost double increase" in 2013 quarter-over-quarter revenue in the APAC region. The release also cites an IDC report which predicts worldwide
programmatic spending on ecommerce to grow 14.4% year-on-year.
Stoneman was previously Sales Director, EMEA and General Manager, UK for InMobi, a mobile ad network. RTM Daily
reached out to PubMatic but they were not immediately available for comment.
