Microsoft started a program Wednesday allowing public and private schools to register for the Bing for Schools program, which essentially gives students an opportunity to search the Web ad free. It
said seven districts, including Los Angeles Unified School District and Atlanta Public Schools, have already signed up for the pilot. The search engine not only strips out ads, but it blocks adult
content and includes special features meant to improve digital literacy, reports Gigaom.
