Dunkin' Launches T-Shirt Design Contest

In conjunction with National (and International) Coffee Day, on Sept. 29, Dunkin Donuts is running a global T-shirt design challenge, along with other promotions.

Between Sept. 27 and Oct. 17, Dunkin' fans anywhere in the world can visit a dedicated area (www.threadless.com/ilovecoffee ) on Threadless.com -- a creative community that makes, supports, and buys art -- to submit their own T-shirt designs, reflecting their love of Dunkin’ coffee.

If one of these designs is chosen by Dunkin' and Threadless, the creator will receive $7,000 cash, a $500 Threadless gift card, 10 Dunkin' T-shirts featuring the selected design, and free Dunkin’ coffee for a year (U.S. residents) or $100 in Dunkin' merchandise (international residents). The design also may be sold on DunkinDonuts.com in time for the upcoming holiday season.

Dunkin' fans around the world are also being invited to visit the Dunkin’ Design Challenge page on Threadless to discuss and score the submitted designs.

Dunkin' will also offer users of its mobile payment/gifting app a free small hot or iced coffee at participating U.S. Dunkin' restaurants, redeemable only through the "My Offers" tab of the app. (That app can be downloaded free for iPhone or iPod touch from Apple's App Store, iTunes, or the Google Play Store.)

In addition, on Sept. 28 and 29, Dunkin’ is offering discounts on its packaged coffee and K-Cup packs. One-pound bags of packaged coffee will be sold for $5.99, and 14-count boxes of its K-Cup packs will be sold for $7.99, while supplies last (limited to two bags or boxes per person).

To kick off this weekend’s National Coffee Day, Dunkin’ will ring the NASDAQ stock market Opening Bell at the NASDAQ MarketSite in New York City’s Times Square. NASDAQ will also unofficially change its name to “NASDDAQ” for the day, incorporating Dunkin's pink-and-orange "D's" into the NASDAQ logo.
