Marin Appoints Yovanno CEO, Lien Moves Into Exec Chairman Role

Marin Software announced Wednesday that David Yovanno has joined as CEO. Chris Lien, founder and CEO since April 2006, will become executive chairman, remaining actively involved in the company's day-to-day business.

Lien said Yovanno will take the company through its next phase of growth. "Marin's record results for the first quarter demonstrate our tremendous market opportunity and momentum," he said in a prepared statement. "Now is the right time to bring in Dave, who has more than 20 years of operating experience and strong digital marketing expertise."

Marin, which Lien launched in 2006, began trading publicly in March 2013. Since then the company has grown to become a top Revenue Acquisition Management platform provider. As of Dec. 31, 2013, Marin's customers managed $6 billion of annualized online advertising spending via the Marin platform, supported by the company's more than 500 employees in 13 offices worldwide.

Yovanno brings to Marin nearly 20 years of experience in the technology industry, most recently as executive vice president of Technology Solutions at Conversant, which last year generated more than $500 million in revenue. He also brings experience in the digital advertising industry and has proven his operational leadership capabilities globally, per Marin.
