EU Requires Google To Remove Links In Privacy Case

The European Court of Justice in Luxembourg Tuesday ruled that Google must grant search engine users a right to delete links about themselves in some cases, including links to legal records. The judgment is based on a data protection law from 1995 that provides limited rights to object to the processing of specific personal information. It would require Google and other search engines to remove links to Web pages even when the original publication adheres to the law.
