SpotXchange Sees 350% Boost In Programmatic Video Spend In Q1; Hires, Promotes 3 For Regional Leadership

SpotXchange on Wednesday announced a number of new hires as well as some successful Q1 2014 results.

The video ad exchange says programmatic spend increased 350% from Q1 2013 to Q1 2014. As a result, SpotXchange says it saw its overall revenue grow 145% year-over-year.

The company has also announced the appointments of Dan Alexander as head of platform development, Southwest region, and Ben Abbatiello as head of the company’s East Cost platform team. Mike Laband, an existing SpotXchange employee, will now oversee business development in the Northwest region.

Alexander joins SpotXchange from Conversant -- formerly ValueClick -- where he ran video strategy. He will be based in Los Angeles.

Abbatiello will be based in New York and joins the company from Yahoo, where he worked within its Genome business unit and managed several video buying initiatives.

Laband will be based in San Francisco. All three will report to Sean Buckley, VP of platform and global supply at SpotXchange.
