PubMatic Taps Narcio As Regional Manager, LatAm

Supply-side platform (SSP) PubMatic on Thursday announced it has appointed Fernando Narcio as regional manager, Latin America. The company has been active in Brazil since 2013 via a partnership with AUNICA, per a release.

“Latin America is a huge focus for PubMatic,” stated Kirk McDonald, the company’s president. “Our presence in Brazil, continued partnership with AUNICA, and Fernando’s appointment all show our deep commitment to this market. These announcements come at a time when Latin America has the second-fastest growth rate in digital advertising spending of any region worldwide, and when the region -- especially Brazil and Argentina -- is poised for significant growth in the next 12-24 months.”

PubMatic cites a recent eMarketer study which says that “Brazil will maintain the highest levels of digital ad spending out of the Latin American countries.” The report estimates Brazil will spend $2.88 billion by 2018, or 54.4% of all estimated digital ad spend in the region. Additionally, per Accordant Media’s Q1 RTB Market Pulse report, Brazil is No. 2 behind the U.S. in terms of RTB marketshare.

Narcio will oversee PubMatic’s partnership with AUNICA and will head expansion into other countries in the region. He was most recently head of business development at NII Holdings. Prior to that, he was at AOL.
