The Effie Awards is recognizing sports marketing with new two categories this year including awards for marketing around the Olympics and the World Cup.
Entries should highlight cases that had a targeted marketing strategy surrounding the 2014 Winter Olympics or the 2014 World Cup. Both corporate campaigns and marketing efforts for individual brands that ran in the United States or Canada are eligible for the two categories.
Entries must detail the “why” behind their Olympics or World Cup strategies and provide proof that the results were a direct result of the engagement with the specific marketing platform, according to the Effies organization..
Also new this year is a Seasonal Marketing category. The idea is to showcase strategic communications campaigns that effectively capitalized on a season, holiday or cultural event to drive business results.
