Bill and Melinda Gates are pretty excited about mobile technology and its potential to improve the lives of people in developing countries. In their annual letter, their “big bet” is that
“the lives of people in poor countries will improve faster in the next 15 years than at any other time in history” — and they’re betting on smartphones to facilitate much of
the change. “They point in particular to the spread of mobile banking and education,” GeekWire reports.
