Scripps Networks Tap Gigliotti As CRO

Longtime Scripps Networks Interactive senior advertising executive Steve Gigliotti has been promoted to chief revenue officer.

Gigliotti, who was president of advertising sales and marketing, will be responsible for all the company’s revenue business -- advertising and content distribution. Previously, he headed advertising sales at the network group -- home of Food Network, HGTV, and Cooking Channel -- for 15 years.

“The business model for video-based content companies used to be very clearly defined, but as consumer options have multiplied, so have the number of business models,” stated Burton Jablin, president of Scripps Networks Interactive.

"As a result," Jablin added, "businesses have to take a much more coordinated approach to revenue generation if they are to take full advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead." Gigliotti will continue to report to Jablin.

He has been vice president/station manager of KCBS-TV Los Angeles and vice president/general manager of WMAR-TV Baltimore, before becoming senior vice president, advertising sales for Scripps Networks in 2000.
