With an
eye on mobile, Evite has named Perry Evoniuk as its new chief technology officer.
Evoniuk most recently served as director of information systems for Amgen, where he spearheaded information
platform planning, solution design, and risk management.
As CTO of Evite, Evoniuk will be expected to oversee the execution of the invitation service's technology strategy, software
engineering and enterprise architecture.
The future of Evite -- which currently claims 32 million registered users -- is all about mobile, according to Evoniuk.
“I’m eager
to find new ways to further enhance the digital experience of Evite’s millions of users, particularly in the mobile arena," Evoniuk stated.
On an annual basis, Evite helps users plan
some 6 million parties and other gatherings, according to internal estimates. Every hour, the platform supports roughly 25,000 invitations.
Launched in 1998, Evite a wholly owned operating
business of Liberty Interactive Corporation.
Prior to Amgen, Evoniuk was vice president of software engineering and enterprise architecture for drugstore.com.
