Level Studios Sets up Shop In San Fran, Led By Michael Phillips

Level Studios is expanding its footprint by opening a new office in San Francisco. This shop - based at 100 California Street - will cater to its technology clients and concentrate on core discipline areas including recruiting, human resources, creative and technology.

The new office underscores the heightened importance the Publicis-owned agency is placing on this region. Level Studios SF will be led by industry veteran Michael Phillips, joining as SVP of Technology and Innovation.

In this new role, Phillips will serve as a member of the agency’s executive leadership team and will be tasked with developing new, innovative technology solutions while providing strategic oversight to the technology practice. He will report to Level's CEO Dan Connolly.

Most recently, Phillips worked at Eleven, Inc., where he led the agency’s digital production and creative technology department. Prior to his time at Eleven, Phillips built and led the Beta Group at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, the agency’s creative technology and digital innovation team.

“Michael’s ability to drive innovation for well-known brands and startups makes him the ideal person to launch the San Francisco office and develop new technology solutions on behalf of our clients,” said Connolly.

The office opens with around 10 positions already filled and agency executives say they anticipate making this office a focal point and will be heavily investing in talent in this location. In all, the agency currently employs more than 125 staffers with offices in San Jose, California and the UK.

After being spun-off in 2013, Razorfish Global's Level Studios has more than doubled its headcount and client list and has achieved a 46% year over year growth in revenue.
