DigitasLBi Elevates Matthew Jacobson To Global Designer

DigitasLBi has elevated Matthew Jacobson from VP group director to the newly created EVP global design lead to collaborate on key client and new-business initiatives across DigitasLBi offices in 25 countries. Jacobson will continue to be based in Chicago, reporting to Ronald Ng, chief creative officer for North America.

This summer the agency is sending him to China to help that region's creative output. Then he will be working in-residence at various global offices to help them grow local and national design capabilities.

“Matthew is a rock star in the design world, and now’s the perfect time for him to spread his wings across our growing global creative footprint,” said Ng. “His unique understanding of what makes people tick delivers a competitive edge for our clients.”

Jacobson's background is strong within the ad, design and music industries. During his tenure as SVP/group director, Jacobson led design for North American offices, after founding DigitasLBi’s design, branding, and illustration studio out of the Chicago office. He and his team recently rebranded the iconic 225-year-old New York Stock Exchange.

Previously he worked with rock stars as the head of design at Jack White’s label Third Man Records. He has designed record covers for musicians including The White Stripes, Beck, Spoon, Andrew Bird, Jerry Lee Lewis, and The Raconteurs and gained notoriety for creating the world’s first "scratch-off" concert poster for a Jack White Las Vegas show.
