Looking for the IT Girl

If watching videos from thousands of beautiful women sounds like a dream job, you might want to look into a job with IT Cosmetics. The beauty brand is turning to the world of video bloggers to find three new spokes-models, the “IT Girls” (and no, that doesn’t stand for “Information Technology Girls,” as I thought at first glance).

The company is holding a contest open to amateur, professional, and first-time video bloggers from around the world, including its own network of over 12,000 video bloggers. Hosted on the Grapevine Logic platform, the IT Girl Contest invites participants to register with their YouTube channel and then upload a video showing “Your Most Beautiful You,” including that numinous quality, inner beauty.

IT Cosmetics will review these entries to choose 20 finalists; videos will be judged on quality, educational value (e.g. make up tricks and techniques) and online influence, including “likes” and views.

The finalists will then be asked to create and upload a “Problem/Solution” video dealing with a beauty-related issue using IT Cosmetics. Three winners will be announced on July 28th. But there are plenty of prizes to go around, including $200 in beauty products for each of 250 randomly selected registrants, and $800 in products for each of the finalists.

The three lucky winners will get $5,000 in cash each, a free trip to New York City, and the chance to collaborate with IT Cosmetics founder and CEO Jamie Kern on a new product for the brand. After going live earlier this morning, the contest has already attracted hundreds of participants. IT Cosmetics will document the contest and provide updates via Instagram and Twitter.
