Coty Consolidates At ZenithOptimedia, Will Oversee $600 Million+

Global beauty products marketer Coty has named Publicis’ ZenithOptimedia global media agency of record for its $600 million-plus advertising account. ZenithOptimedia succeeds Omnicom’s OMD, which did not participate in the review, which began in April and reportedly included unusual terms including a request to float commissions and fees for up to 150 days.

The account, which consolidates all global media services at ZenithOptimedia, is heavy on print and TV, and caps off a 10-year relationship between Publicis and Coty, retaining regional assignments the agency held in Germany and Austria.

The global win adds 13 markets worldwide, covering three regions: North America, Western Europe and Eastern Europe. Coty’s three biggest markets are the U.S., the U.K. and Germany.

ZenithOptimedia said a dedicated will be created to manage the account, overseeing all strategy and “offline” media, and handling digital media in partnership with Coty’s digital AORs.

Some of Coty’s most notable brands include adidas, Calvin Klein, Chloé, Davidoff, Marc Jacobs, OPI, Playboy, Rimmel and Sally Hansen.

The account is effective July 1.
