American Eagle Launches Back-To-School Try-On Sweepstakes

American Eagle Outfitters is launching a unique sweepstakes that prompts consumers to enter from store fitting rooms or while shopping online.

While in the fitting room trying on the latest styles of American Eagle Outfitters Denim X and Flex or shopping on www.ae.com, shoppers can enter to instantly win by texting JEANS to 32453. Shoppers are also invited to share their experience by uploading photos using the hashtag #AEOStyle.

The brand launched a similar promotion in March focusing on consumers who were trying on the Aerie line of swimsuits.  Entrants had the opportunity to win a grand prize of a restored Volkswagen Westfalia valued at approximately $25,000 and $10,000 in cash to create their own ultimate road trip experience. The sweepstakes also included a text-to-enter instant-win game in which participants could win American Eagle Outfitters shorts and Aerie swim suits. All entrants were offered a tiered coupon for use in-store or online of $10 off a purchase of $40 or $20 off a purchase of $75 or more.

The current sweepstakes runs through July 22. Entrants have the opportunity to win a grand prize of $10,000 in cash. Participants in the text-to-enter instant-win game can win a MacBook Gold laptop, Apple Watch, iPhone 6 device or iPad Air laptop. All entrants will be offered a coupon of $15 off a purchase of $75 or more in-store or online, with only one use per brand and cannot be combined with any other offer.

"Engaging our customers in new, unique ways is very important to us as a brand,” says Michael Leedy, American Eagle Outfitters chief marketing officer, in a release. “By hosting this event, they're able to try-on and get a feel for our new styles of Denim X and Flex.”

The brand is also promoting its Denim Flex with a campaign featuring professional World Freerunning & Parkour Federation athletes, Gaeton Boullett, Max Henry, Paul Joseph and Tim Burton to showcase the jeans and their capabilities through the extreme free running sport. The partnership showcases the flexibility, comfort and reliability of the new flex denim.

The sport highlights how the Denim X and Flex collections are made to move with wearers through technologically-advanced fabric, Leedy adds.
