Google Postpones Project Ara Smartphone

Google said Monday it would postpone its effort to deliver on a modular phone that consumers can configure piece by piece until sometime in 2016. The company said Project Ara just isn't ready to move beyond its prototype phase. Cnet describes the project as Google's attempt to shake up how consumers buy smartphones by using interchangeable parts. Similar to the way someone might choose apps for their phone for search or discovery, it means consumers will have options on the choice of camera, display from another, and processor built into the hardware of the phone.
