TBS Taps Hurvitz As EVP, Communications To Head Brand Marketing

Starcom Mediavest executive Lauren Hurvitz has been named EVP/chief communications and corporate marketing officer for Turner Broadcasting System.

She will be in charge of brand reputation across all platforms, internal and external strategic communications, media relations and publicity. Hurvitz will report to John Martin Jr, chairman/CEO of Turner Broadcasting.

Hurvitz had been global chief communications/brand marketing officer at Publicis Groupe’s Starcom Mediavest Group since 2012.

Before that she was head of global corporate communications and events at AOL. In addition, she had been EVP/global corporate communications/public affairs for MTV Networks, where she ran all corporate communications, standards and practices and corporate philanthropy functions.

Earlier in her career, she was EVP of Robinson Lerer & Montgomery, a communications firm specializing in crisis communications.

Martin stated: “Lauren is a skilled global communications and marketing pro who has been on the front lines of the evolution of media throughout her career. She brings a deep experience that encompasses advertising, technology, digital, cable brands, and more.”
