Well, it was certainly a bummer to lose Tyler
Loechner as editor of Real-Time Daily, but things always have a way of working out. In this case, the timing couldn’t have been better, because it just so happened that former MediaPoster Tobi
Elkin was game to come back home -- and to focus on the programmatic media marketplace too.
Tobi starts today, as does programmatic beat reporter Felicia Greiff, so that’s two
reasons you should start reading this publication more closely. Give them some time to settle in. And give them your leads on good scoops, perspectives and interesting stories shaping and reshaping
the programmatic marketplace. Meanwhile, I’ll continue weighing in as much as I can.
Tobi and I spent this morning “white-boarding,” which makes me think
she’s going to be approaching this far more strategically and with greater organization than I ever did.

Meanwhile, let me remind you on her background.
Tobi
returns to MediaPost after nearly seven years at eMarketer, where her most recent role was director of market insights. While at eMarketer, she was responsible for original reporting and conducted
hundreds of in-depth interviews with senior executives that strategically informed analyst reports. She authored reports on native advertising/branded content, mobile, video, and B2B trends, and
produced content on digital trends in the APAC market and U.S. consumer package goods sector.
While at MediaPost, Tobi covered the business of digital marketing, media, and
advertising at MediaPost from 2004-2007 as a reporter, editor, and columnist for Online Media Daily, one of the company's flagship newsletters. She also served as editor of Media and OMMA, which were
published as monthly magazines.
Prior to MediaPost, Tobi was the interactive editor and tech marketing beat reporter at Advertising Age. She’s also written for Brandweek and other
trade publications covering consumer technology marketers; she began her career in journalism at the Associated Press.
