Many online readers of The New York Times apparently aren’t happy with its “verified commenters” system. “These few hundred people whose comments are posted without moderation
can end up dominating the reader commenting system,” writes the paper’s public editor Margaret Sullivan. “And that causes quite understandable resentment among thousands of
others.”
