Emap Rises From Ashes For GBP800m Float

A company born from the ashes of Emap, the former FTSE 100 media stalwart, is to return to the market in a listing likely to value it at £800 million. Ascential is the former business-to-business unit of Emap, which was broken up and sold last decade. The company was acquired by Apax and Guardian Media Group in 2008 for GBP1 billion but the business was laden with debt of around £700 million. It was renamed Top Rights Group and set about selling off divisions and closing product lines, paving the way for a float.
