Tremor Video's Lauren Wiener Named IAB Chair

The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) board of directors elected Lauren Wiener, president of buyer platforms at Tremor Video, chair of the IAB Board at its annual leadership meeting in Palm Desert, Calif. on Sunday. Jim Norton, global head of media sales at AOL, was elected to the position of vice chair, which was formerly held by Wiener. Wiener is only the second woman to hold the position.  Wenda Harris Millard was chair of the IAB Board from 2008-2009. Harris Millard is now president and COO of MediaLink.

"Today, digital advertising is a $50-billion industry. Our growth rate in 20 years has dwarfed that of print, radio, and even TV. Recent reports predict that digital ad revenue will eclipse ad spending on television later this year. Beyond growth in revenue and penetration, digital has improved people’s lives. It connects family and friends and provides utility and information at a moment’s notice. And the vast majority of these tools and services are virtually free, thanks to innovations in digital advertising," Wiener told Real-Time Daily via email.

Newly elected members of the board include:

  • John Frelinghuysen, EVP, digital media, strategy and business development, Disney/ABC Television Group
  • Jed Hartman, chief revenue officer, The Washington Post
  • Robb Richter, SVP and chief digital officer, Media General
  • Michael Rubenstein, president, AppNexus
  • Rick Welday, president, AT&T AdWorks
  • Joe Zawadzki, CEO, MediaMath
