The Board of WPP has appointed Former Sony executive Nicole Seligman as its senior independent director, effective immediately. 

Seligman was appointed a nonexecutive director of WPP in January 2014.  She spent the last 15 years in senior executive roles at Sony, including stints as the company’s general counsel; president of Sony Corp. of America and president of Sony U.S. Entertainment.

She left the entertainment and electronics giant at the end March.

WPP lost a board member last month when Roger Agnelli, the Brazilian mining magnate was tragically killed in a plane crash along with his wife, children and other family members.
