'Forbes' Debuts 'Forbes Podcasts' For Millennial, Entrepreneurial Women

Forbes announced Tuesday the launch of “Forbes Podcasts,” a network focusing on Millennial women interested in the world of start-ups and entrepreneurship.

The network premiered with with 10 shows, each consisting of 12 short episodes over the next six months, for a total of 120 episodes.

Forbes states that this podcast series is unique, as it is hosted primarily by women who are producing business-first content by or for millennial women. The podcasts feature entertaining and empowering career, leadership and entrepreneurial advice and stories.

“Today, if you see a woman with headphones, she is increasingly tuning in to a podcast... We’re excited about the opportunity to bring new voices to podcasting and leverage the medium to help Millennials bring their own stories to life,” stated Christina Vuleta, Forbes VP of Women’s Digital Network.

Today, an estimated 57 million Americans tune into podcasts regularly, according to Edison Research.

Vuleta told Publishers Daily that Forbes is “focused on creating dynamic content that targets an audience of entrepreneurs” and that the podcasts are not sponsored.

“However, we will incorporate advertisers in the future,” she added.

“Millennial women are responding to this rich narrative format, and we believe it can be an important extension of our dynamic contributor network on Forbes.com,” stated Lewis D’Vorkin, Forbes Media chief product officer.

Even the titles of the 10 shows reflect the startup life: “Creating Espacios”; “The Failure Factor”; “Mentoring Moments”; “Two Inboxes”; “Uncommon Ground”; “And/And”; “The Limit Does Not Exist”; “Well, Technically”; “Hiding in the Bathroom and Other Unlikely Secrets of Success”; and “First 200 Days.”

This isn’t the first time Forbes has dived into the world of podcasts.

Just last month, Forbes VP and managing editor of technology, Bruce Upbin, launched the podcast, “The Premise," which explores how changes in technology affect businesses.
