Gombert Replaces IAB Tech Lab Founder Cunningham

The Interactive Advertising Bureau announced a new general manager of its Tech Lab Tuesday: Alanna Gombert.

Tech Lab founder Scott Cunningham previously held the position. In addition to serving as GM of the organization, Gombert will also serve as SVP of technology and ad operations at the IAB. Both roles start in July.

Earlier this year, Gombert was appointed deputy general manager of the IAB Tech Lab and VP-technology and ad operations, IAB. Previously, she was CEO of full-service digital media consulting agency Gombert Consulting. Her other experience includes roles at Omnicom, Condé Nast and CatalystDesk, the publisher’s digital media trading platform that she founded.

“The technical and operational foundation of digital marketing is at a crossroads -- balancing the demands of brand advertisers, media agencies, publishers, and consumers,” Gombert stated. “The IAB Tech Lab and IAB have the opportunity and responsibility to move the industry toward global solutions that meet the needs of those constituencies."

Under Cunningham, the IAB Tech Lab developed principles and tech on ad blocking; created digital video standards; established guidance on HTML5; and developed an app on testing mobile ad creative against multiple SDKs.
