Sir Martin Sorrell struck a defiant tone over his £70.4 million pay package yesterday after more than a third of shareholders voted against WPP’s remuneration policy at its annual meeting. Some institutional investors lined up at the gathering in London to complain about the “excessive” pay for Sir Martin, right, and to call for an overhaul of the media and advertising group’s remuneration policies.
