Video inventory management platform SpotX on Friday announced an expansion in the Nordic region, opening a new office in Stockholm, Sweden. As part of the opening, the company named Stephen Byrne as senior business development director, Nordics.
Based in Stockholm, Byrne joins SpotX from ITV, a large commercial broadcaster in the U.K. where he was head of VOD commercial and technology strategy for ITV Hub.
At SpotX, he’ll be tasked with helping publishers and broadcasters in the Nordic countries (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland) use programmatic video technology and expand SpotX’s inventory supply across the EMEA region. Byrne will be responsible for advising clients and prospects on revenue strategies for private marketplaces and curated marketplaces for video, mobile video, and connected TV as well as a programmatic approach to linear TV.
The appointment comes as SpotX has experienced an increase of 56% in year-over-growth from 2015 and growth in international headcount year-over-year of 139%.
EMEA is a fast growing region for SpotX, and mobile and connected TV advertising accounted for 15% of revenue globally in 2015, according to the company.
