Return Path Acquires Email Copilot For Email Deliverability

Email and data solutions provider Return Path announced the acquisition of San Diego-based startup Email Copilot on Monday.

Return Path plans to acquire the company's technical assets and existing business as a part of the deal. No financial details of the agreement were disclosed by the time of writing.

Email Copilot is an email startup founded in 2011 to ease the anxieties of pressing the "send" button of an email marketing campaign. The company provides real-time monitoring reports of email deliverability, relaying the information with dynamic visualization.

The Email Copilot technology will now be integrated into Return Path’s existing Email Optimization solutions, granting marketers a more detailed view of the performance of their email marketing campaigns. Email Copilot relays real-time analytics on email performance and deliverability to help email marketers pinpoint any issues that are presenting a challenge to their return on investment.

“With this new technology, our clients and partners will be able to connect disparate data sources to understand when deliverability problems occur, what’s causing those problems, and how to fix them — all in real time,” writes Matt Blumberg, Return Path’s CEO, in a blog post announcing the news.

Blumberg further explains how the Email Copilot team plans to stay on board at Return Path as the integration comes into fruition. “Over the next few months, we’ll be working with the Email Copilot team — including co-founders Al Bsharah and Bryan Hall, and data scientist Colin Jemmott — to complete the transition,” writes Blumberg.
