Bauer Media Group's U.S. digital business, Bauer Xcel Media U.S., on Tuesday announced three new appointments to its leadership team: Mike Shaughnessy, vice president revenue; Kate Spies, vice president, editorial and audience development; and Lisa van Gelder, senior vice president, technology.
Shaughnessy will be responsible for the identification, implementation, and optimization of all programmatic revenue partners. Prior to joining the company, he was vice president, programmatic at Patch.com. Before that, he was responsible for increasing programmatic revenue and traffic acquisition strategies at About.com.
Spies is tasked with overseeing content and diversifying traffic sources within the editorial team. Previously, Spies was the head of content for Mamamia, a women's network in Australia, and before that worked at Bauer Media Australia.
Van Gelder will lead technology strategy and operations. She comes from Stride, where she was vice president of engineering. She has experience managing teams in both London and New York, including the BBC and the Guardian newspaper.
