Volvo Cars is partnering with luxury hotel curator Tablet Hotels to launch the Get Away Lodge in northern Sweden.
Launched in conjunction with Volvo Cars’ all-weather premium V90 Cross Country, it is part of a bigger campaign promoting work-life balance.
The Swedish automaker has said it believes self-driving cars could change the way people balance their work and personal lives. Volvo chose the first family to test its self-driving technology and introduced them at the Detroit auto show.
As for the Get Away Lodge, it will be available for a limited time. It is located outside the winter sports village of Åre in Jämtland County. The traditional-looking mountain lodge has been newly renovated and furnished with a mix of Scandinavian design.

The use of a new Volvo V90 Cross Country is included in the lodge rental.
“Our research shows that around the globe, 6 out of 10 people want to spend more time outdoors, not at the office,” says Björn Annwall, senior vice president, global consumer experience at Volvo Car Group, in a release. “We want to encourage people to reprioritize and reconnect with their forgotten passions. The lodge is the perfect location for anyone who wants to escape for a few days to discover the elusive work-life balance we have all heard of.”
A 24/7 hotline/concierge service will assist the residents in making dinner reservations, recommend outdoor adventures and make sure that the torches outside the lodge are lit every night.
