Ad-management firm Sizmek on Monday announced the appointment of  Mark Grether, Ph.D., as executive chairman, and the departure of Neil Nguyen, the company’s CEO and president. 

Grether will lead and implement Sizmek’s growth strategy. He will work with Nguyen during a transition period.

Grether was the co-founder and global chief operating officer of WPP’s Xaxis programmatic media unit and has worked with brands across industry verticals including automotive, retail, and consumer packaged goods. Prior to Xaxis, he was the global development director of GroupM.

Nguyen spent 13 years at Sizmek. "I've been part of a great team to build this company from $40 million in annual revenue and 200 employees, to hitting a peak of $420 million and over 2,000 employees when we formed DG Mediamind. It's a great time to transition to new leadership that can take the company forward into its next stage of growth," Nguyen told Real-Time Daily via email.
