Droga5 has appointed Amy Avery as the agency’s first
chief intelligence officer, effective immediately. Avery will oversee the agency’s team of data strategists and will report to Global Chief Strategy Officer Jonny Bauer.
Avery is tasked
with upping the agency’s capability in data analytics as more clients seek to use insights gleaned from data in their marketing efforts. The remit includes identifying opportunities and targets
as well as planning, measurement and optimization recommendations.
Avery joined Droga5 from J. Walter Thompson, where she led the agency’s global analytics practice. Earlier she worked
at BBDO, where she established the agency’s analytics function. She has worked with major brands including AT&T, FedEx, Hormel, Starbucks, SC Johnson, Campbell’s, United States Marine
Corps, FEMA, Kimberly-Clark and Merrill Lynch, among others.
Commenting on the hire, Bauer stated: “As clients continue to ask us to go further upstream into product and service
innovation and further downstream into performance marketing, it became clear Amy was the right person to lead intelligence at Droga5. We share a belief in the power of influence to achieve
effectiveness for all our clients.”
