The Marketing Arm has been appointed agency of record  Aqua Pharmaceuticals, an Almirall company focused on acquiring, developing and marketing prescription medical dermatology products in the U.S.

The assignment came out of a competitive review with several other ad agencies. Incumbent GCG Marketing did not defend this account.

TMA's healthcare practice Health will be responsible for strategy, creative, media services, and public relations, including both B2B and B2C outreach efforts.

The account will be led out of the agency's NY office, which is tasked with building a comprehensive marketing communications plan for Aqua Pharmaceuticals, as well as its individual products, including Veltin, Altabax, Cordran.

Aqua Pharmaceuticals oversees branded prescription drugs in four therapeutic categories that include acne, steroid-responsive dermatoses, actinic keratoses, and seborrheic dermatitis.

Almirall, which is based in Spain,  acquired Aqua Pharmaceuticals for $327.6 million in December 2013.
