The products are free of dyes, parabens and chlorine. They are made from eco-responsible ingredients, use recyclable packaging and are cruelty free.
Ads for the products will run in Real Simple magazine. The first one will appear in this month's issue, which fittingly has a spring cleaning theme. Ads will also run in other Time Inc. publications, and will be regularly featured in Real Simple's online and social media platforms.
The line will be produced by Lab Clean Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of eco-responsible home and automotive care products.
“Consumers are increasingly demanding products that work, but are still safe for families and pets. We developed this formula to meet those needs,” stated Real Simple editor-in-chief Leslie Yazel.
She added, “We bond with our consumers around organization and cleaning, but also around simple, elevated design.”
Real Simple Clean includes 12 cleaning products to tackle “stains, odors, dishes and hands,” such as washing machine cleaner, leather furniture cleaner and conditioner, glass and surface cleaner, dish soap and hand soap. The scents range from Fresh Citrus to Rosemary Mint. Prices range from $5.99 to $7.99.
The products will eventually be available in stores, as well.
Expanding into licensing and products provides an opportunity for publishers to grow revenue and raise brand awareness. Real Simple has previously collaborated with Bed Bath & Beyond on bedding, furniture and storage products, for example, and 1-800 Flowers to design floral arrangements and seasonal gifts.Last fall, another lifestyle brand, Brit + Co, collaborated with disposable and porcelain tableware company Cheeky to launch a collection of disposable tableware to be sold in Target stores.
