Mobile brand advertising company Kargo on Wednesday
appointed Ed Carey executive vice president, U.S. sales. Carey will lead the expansion of Kargo’s sales team in North America, focusing on the company’s direct and programmatic
business.
“Brands are looking for an open alternative to Google and Facebook, so — today more than ever — having a curated premium mobile marketplace is
paramount,” the company's Chief Business Officer Adam Chandler told Real-Time Daily via email. “Given Ed's tech and media background, he brings a complementary skill
set needed to guide brand marketers on the path to leverage their most important data asset and refine how they approach the art of mobile marketing."
Prior to joining Kargo, Carey
served as global vice president at Dun & Bradstreet, where he handled business development for enterprise, programmatic and data analytics. Carey has also worked for Rubicon Project, Undertone and
The New York Times Media Group.
Carey will be based in New York and report to Chandler.
