SendGrid Expands London Presence With Hires And Move

SendGrid, which offers a cloud-based communications platform, has expanded its London presence by moving to a larger office and making two new hires.

Jamila Firfire, a ten-year marketing veteran, has been named marketing manager. She will work with the U.S. marketing team to drive content generation, nurture campaigns, and manage outbound marketing and lead generation in Europe, the company said.

Ryan Donnelly, a sales executive from Vend, will manage “a pipeline of leads,” SendGrid said, adding that he will counsel prospects on how to use SendGrid’s products.

The move and hires are part of SendGrid’s international expansion strategy, and reflect confidence in the growth of email marketing.

"As the number one driver of ROI, according to the Direct Marketing Association, email is a critical marketing tool for businesses in Europe to implement into their marketing strategy," said Scott Heimes, CMO at SendGrid, in an email. "It enables brands to communicate with customers at the right time in the right place with a personalized message to fuel engagement and business growth."

SendGrid serves over 12,000 customers in Europe, including OpenTable, EasyRoommate and Rentalcars.com.

Overall, the company sends more 35 billion emails a month for clients such as Airbnb, Pandora, HubSpot, Spotify, Uber and FourSquare, Intuit and Costco.

The new office is located at 41 Corsham St, London N1 6DR.
