Univision Names O'Connor CRO

Tonia O’Connor was named to a new post, Chief Revenue Officer, responsible for all Univision ad-based business, as well as integrated content monetization, including linear and digital advertising and content distribution.

O’Connor has been EVP of distribution sales and marketing for Univision since January 2008.

In the coming weeks, she'll look to hire a replacement for senior TV ad executive Keith Turner, who announced his retirement earlier this month.

Turner, president of advertising sales and marketing at Univision Communications, has been helping the company through the upfront advertising selling season. He will depart at the end of the year.

Turner has been with the company since 2012, reporting to Randy Falco, president/CEO of Univision. Both Falco and Turner were senior executive veterans at NBC Television Network.

Over the past year period ending mid-April, the Univision network pulled in $1.6 billion in national TV advertising, with some 669 brands airing commercials, according to iSpot.tv.

Some of O'Connor's accomplishments include leading the creation of the Univision’s first English-language digital network and the Univision Creator Network.

Univision says she played a key role in expanding the group to 17 networks — broadcast, cable, digital networks and partnerships — from three channels. Also, she helped launch a subscription video service, Univision NOW.

Before Univision, O'Connor spent more than a decade with Gemstar-TV Guide, where she had a number of positions, including EVP, distribution.
