Update: This item has been revised with a corrected layoff tally, which is 5.2% NOT the previously reported 20%.
R&R Partners is famous for creating the iconic
“What Happens Here, Stays Here” tourism campaign for Las Vegas nearly 15 years ago.
Sadly, 5.2% of the agency’s staff won’t be staying, due to recently imposed layoffs.
More than 10 staffers were let go from the agency’s Los Angeles office, while the remaining pink-slipped personnel were dismissed from its flagship Las Vegas office.
Arnie DiGeorge, executive creative director, confirmed the staff reductions and indicated the cuts were a result of "what most agencies are facing in the changing landscape of this business. ... which often means lower budgets for some reason."
Trump’s anti-immigration views haven’t helped the tourism business — the agency's bread-and-butter category. Visitor volume to the city was down in June, although volume is flat for the first six months, the Las Vegas Review-Journalrecently reported.
