Greatmail LLC, an email hosting provider, is partnering with Mailbird to improve message management and enhance the recipient’s email experience.
Mailbird facilitates personalization and integration of email interfaces, and can integrate applications like Dropbox, Evernote and WhatsApp, the firms say.
It also includes an email speed reader, unified inbox, folders/labels, snooze, touchscreen support, and shortcuts, the companies add.
Greamail
clients can download Mailbird’s email client when signing up or through its marketplace.
Executives at Greatmail claim to have seen a growing demand for
alternative mail client applications. Marketers have been seeking “a reasonably priced, full-featured email client,” states company spokesperson Ryan Hess.
Greatmail, which has provided email hosting since 2003, offers two editions. Standard, which delivers Imap and POP3 email hosting, and Groupware, which also features
synchronization and sharing of calendars and contacts, using Exchange ActiveSync and CalDAV/CardDAV protocols, Greatmail says.
The monthly hosting cost varies from $1 to
$2.50 per mailbox.
In addition, users can access software and service providers in several areas through the Greatmail Marketplace. The areas include AV/security,
email clients, websites, domain names, file storage and office suites.
Greatmail will soon add WordPress Hosting, Video Conferencing and Remote Desktop providers and
user reviews, the firm said.
Mailbird is also available in two versions: free and professional. The free
product supports one mailbox per installation, while the professional edition services multiple accounts and contains advanced features.
The company adds that it
provides secure message handling between the server and client.
