At a time when most digital platforms are trying
to figure out how to be more video-oriented, a video-oriented one is altering its image -- as well as its identity, and its business model -- to be less about video.
Videoblocks,
which has billed itself as “the first subscription-based stock-media company,” this morning said it is rebranding itself as Storyblocks.
It is diversifying into the static images
marketplace with millions of licensed photographs.
As part of the relaunch, the company is folding its GraphicStock unit under into its umbrella offering, but will continue to offer
video and audio as “Videoblocks by Storyblocks” and “Audioblocks by Storyblocks.”
