Fundraising Platform GoFundMe Launches Video Studio

GoFundMe, the digital fundraising platform that lets users raise money for business ideas, personal projects and other causes, is launching a video studio.

The studio, GoFundMe Studios, will create video content based on stories that come from projects on the platform. The studio is planning to create short-form documentaries, feature-length films, podcasts and other formats "to inspire our community and remind everyone that they have the ability to spark change," stated Raquel Rozas, CMO of GoFundMe, in a release.

Content created by the studio will be distributed on social platforms, YouTube and through brand and media partnerships.

The first project released by the studio is called “Jim Ford, Repo Man,” about a repo man “whose heart is touched by Pat & Stan, an elderly couple whose car he’s forced to repossess.” The film debuts on YouTube Today.

GoFundMe Studios will be led by Chris Neil, a filmmaker and creative director, and Wil Tidman, who was most recently VP of creative, strategy and original productions for GoPro.
