Digital agency DEG is expanding its services in the ecommerce space by acquiring Moku Collective, a digital commerce consultancy and Salesforce Commerce Cloud partner. Terms of the deal were not
disclosed.
Founded in 2013, Moku provides customized direct-to-consumer commerce solutions for national and global retail and consumer goods brands, including New Balance, Fender, MCM
Worldwide, Museum of Modern Art and Columbia.
Moku will be folded into the DEG brand and work as part of DEG’s larger ecommerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud teams. All of Moku’s
38 employees work remotely across North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific regions. They will continue to work from the cities in which they live.
As DEG was looking to deepen its Salesforce
Commerce Cloud focus, "we had to make the decision to build or buy,” says Neal Sharma, cofounder, CEO, DEG. "We decided to do both," first with the acquisition of ecommerce firm We Do
Commerce in April, along with organic development in its cross-cloud practices, and now with the addition of Moku.
"It became apparent that our firms shared a common culture and ethos," says
Sharma.
DEG also acquired creative content studio Hint earlier this year to extend its creative capabilities, as well as its geographic reach.
