Los Angeles-based creative agency Zambezi has hired Erickson Ilog as its first Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

A native of the Philippines, Ilog worked for nearly a decade at M&C Saatchi as executive vice president and director of finance and operations before joining WPP ad tech firm Iconmobile as CFO.

“This is the next big step in the evolution of Zambezi,” stated agency CEO Jean Freeman, who has known Ilog since they worked together at Saatchi. “We hired our first Chief Creative Officer earlier this year, Gavin Lester. Now we’ve hired our first Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Zambezi is stepping up in terms of leadership, and strengthening our business processes. Erickson is an expert at establishing financial and operations best practices within the creative industries. He is one of those rare numbers guys who really thrives in a creative environment.”

Recent new business wins at the agency include Venmo and Qantas.
