AOL users in the U.S. are complaining about internet and email outages, with a spike starting at 3:26 pm EST, according to Down Detector.
Reports are coming in from New York, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, Tampa, Pittsburgh, the Bronx and Richmond.
Of the reports, 68% concern email, 19% internet dial-up, and 11% website, Down Detector reports
One complainant writes: “I can't seem to login to my aol mail account. Every time I try to login it takes me to the aol home page, but does not successfully log me in. It's only happening on my computer though. I view my email on my phone just fine..”
Another writes: “Has AOL been totally hacked with all customer information being lost? We need information now.”
This follows other Yahoo email outages in recent weeks.
AOL had apparently not posted a statement about it at press time.
