R/GA Picks IoT Startups To Back

R/GA has selected nine companies that use Internet of Things technologies to participate in its venture program.

At the same time last year, R/GA selected 10 IoT startups to receive funding, guidance and access to the agency’s roster of clients and services as part of its IoT Venture Studio UK initiative.

The companies selected this year will be housed in R/GA’s London Shoreditch-based connected headquarters. The program was launched in collaboration with Innovate UK, the government’s innovation agency and the program officially starts today.

These are the companies and their specialties:

  • Beringer – Smart building sensors
  • Cupclub – Reusable packaging service with trackable products
  • Flow City – Ad platform to access smart digital billboards
  • Homebox – Automatic switching of deals for household bills
  • Mimica – Food spillage indicators to reduce food waste
  • Sceenic – Creates ‘watch together’ experiences for media companies and viewers
  • Sensing Feeling – Uses artificial intelligence for human emotion-sensing products
  • Swipecart – Physical purchasing of goods in a physical space directly by smartphone
  • Wearable X – Merges design and technology for wellness products

The companies will have the opportunity to work directly with R/GA’s marketing, consulting, branding and technology teams and will have access to the agency’s clients, industry partners, mentors and investors.

The program is slated to end in May with a demo event where each company will present.
